Base Maps, and Parameter Files. Please
read the UTEC instruction manual for detailed
instructions on how to upload new software
to your UTEC. Read the Update Notes for
the cool new features that we have added
to your UTEC. As always, these new features

Notes:
1. If your PC does not have a serial
port and you don't have a USB Cable
you will need to purchase a USB to serial
Port adapter. We have had the best luck
with Belkin. We cannot
guarantee 100% percent functionality
i.e. Uploading Maps from your pc with
any of these style adapters.
Important Notes to Read
BEFORE Uploading v5.8 to your UTEC:
- Save your maps to your PC BEFORE
loading the v5.8 software. If you
do not, you will erase your maps and
you will not be able to recover them.
- Maps created using software version
v5.0 and above can be reloaded after
you have loaded v5.8 software.
- DO NOT upload old parameter files.
Make a note of your parameter settings
BEFORE reflashing, download the new
parameter file from above that most
closely matches your level of modification,
upload the parameter file to your
UTEC, and than make any changes manually.
- DO NOT use maps that were created
with software versions that are older
than v4.1 and then scale injectors
in the Open Loop Fuelling Parameters
menu or you will cause the engine
to run dangerously lean.
- DO NOT use v5.8 with Open Loop Fuelling
enabled on WRXs with automatic transmissions.
- All maps are defaulted to run closed
loop boost control. Boost levels should
be checked immediately and modified
as needed.
- It is reccommended that you recheck
Air:Fuel Ratio values after upgrading
your software from earlier versions.
